Sex is a pleasurable, healthy and exciting activity. Having sex improves your relationship as there are more fullness, confidence, and emotional health. However, sometimes it is very painful and sex becomes suffering. There are many factors that can cause pain during an intimate encounter. If it’s your case, know what they are before it’s too late.
Lack of lubrication

When there is dryness in the vagina increases the chances of receiving more pain than pleasure. Lubrication results from the previous play. If there is not enough stimulation, there is hardly adequate lubrication. When it does not occur naturally, it is possible to use artificial lubricants. It is important to remember that without lubrication, the friction that occurs in the vaginal walls could lead to vaginitis (inflammation of the vaginal epithelium). There are lubricants of various types, based on water, oil, and silicone. Ideally, it should be pH 5, similar to the vagina and free of perfume.
Vaginal infections

If you notice redness, swelling and itching may be due to a vaginal infection. If this is the case, abstain from any intimate contact so as not to aggravate the infection, since by having low defenses you could be susceptible to contracting other germs or opportunistic bacteria.
Allergy to latex

Some people have a latex allergy. And one of the most used condoms in relationships is the condom, which is made of latex. If you have symptoms of itching and irritation when having sex with a condom, stop! Go immediately to a gynecologist and ask what another type of condom you can use.
Inflammation

Penetration is very painful when there is inflammation in the genitals for any cause. Inflammation could be a sign of vaginitis or vulvitis . Causes can be bacteria, fungi, viruses, as well as allergies or sexually transmitted diseases. Do not hesitate to visit your gynecologist to give you an accurate diagnosis and an appropriate treatment.
Allergic reaction to contraceptives

Birth control pills and spermicides can cause allergic reactions. Pain during sexual intercourse may be the cause of these reactions.
At first signs of pain see the doctor. There is no sense in suffering an experience that should be pleasurable.
